Turkey E Visa For Tourism

The e visa for tourism was launched in 2013, and ever since, tourists from eligible countries have been able to access the country using this travel document. This visa is issued as a single entry and multiple entry visa, and you can set it for 30 days, 60 days, or 90 days, depending on your nationality. It is also valid 180 days after the issue, so you must use it before the time elapses. Not all eligible visitors can apply for single or multiple entry visas as some passport holders are only limited to single entry visas.

The visa has replaced the sticker previously used and is electronically linked to your passport. To get it, you must complete and submit an online application form along with valid documents. If successful, the visa will be sent to your email.

Turkey e Visa For Business

Business visitors with business interests in Turkey don’t have to apply to the embassy for a business visa as they can get one online if their nationality permits. This business visa is available in two forms; the single entry visa is for one-time visitors, while the multiple entry visa is for frequent visitors. Holders can use this visa for trips if they wish to attend meetings, conferences, or fairs, meet with suppliers, settle estates, seek out investment, and any business-related engagement.

You can avail of this visa for 60 days, 90 days, or 30 days, depending on your nationality, but the authorities will expect you to submit documents to validate the purpose of your trip. Furthermore, once the visa is sent to your email address, you must print it out and bring it to Turkey because the immigration officers at the arrival section will request it.

Diplomatic passport holders are exempt from visa for their travels to Turkey up to 90 days. Ordinary, Special and Service passport holders are required to have visa to enter Turkey. Ordinary, Special and Service passport holders with a valid Schengen members or USA, UK, Ireland visa or residence permit may get their single entry e-Visas valid for one month via the website www.evisa.gov.tr, provided that they meet certain conditions.

Turkey Visa Policy

Turkey has an active visa policy that mandates every visitor from a foreign country to hold a visa before they can be allowed into the country unless they are citizens of visa-exempt countries. Visitors are expected to apply for visas from any of Turkey’s diplomatic missions abroad, online or at the airport if they qualify for a visa on arrival. Here are currently 98 countries on Turkey’s visa-exempt list and 28 countries on the electronic visa list. The consular and e-visas are issued indirectly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the goal of furthering the country’s migration goals.

Turkey Visa-Free Countries

If you are from a visa-free country or territory and have a valid ordinary passport, you can visit Turkey for business or pleasure for a short time. Eligible visitors may present only their passport or ID card for visits of 90 days within 6 months. The government of Turkey has an extended list of foreign nationals who can visit tg country without visas and stay for varying durations.

Citizens of Northern Cyprus can stay in Turkey for as long as they want as there is no limit placed on the duration for visits; however,  persons from other countries in the visa waiver list have restrictions. While some foreigners can stay in Turkey for 90 days within 6 months otherwise can stay visa free for 60 days within 6 months. Russian citizens can stay for 60 or 90 days in 6 months.

Another group can stay for just 30 days in 180 days while there is a conditional Visa Free list of countries whose citizens can stay for 90 days within six months.

Note: Turkey constantly updates its visa waiver list based on ongoing diplomatic agreements with other countries and the current migration climate. Always consult the visa waiver list before making travel decisions.

Key Information About Turkey e Visa

Sticker Visas are no longer in use: For many years, sticker Visas were issued to eligible visitors, but that is no longer the case now as this electronic visa program has replaced sticker Visas. Rather than attach a sticker to your passport, the e-visa is electronically linked. Once you arrive at the airport, the officers will request your passport and the approved e-visa confirmation sent to you and will scan the passport biometrically to generate your e-visa. Traveling with the same passport you registered for the e-visa is important, not a different one.

Passport Validity: It is important to reiterate that your passport must be valid for at least 60 days after your departure date. If yours will expire soon, consider applying for a new passport before submitting your e-visa application.

Use Within 6 months: Once the e-visa is approved and released, you must use it within the next six months; otherwise, it will expire.

Apply Outside Turkey: You can only apply for a visa outside Turkey not while you are inside the country.  Even if you have a visa that is set to expire and would like to apply for a new one, you must leave first and apply while you are outside the country's borders.

For Air Travelers: E visas are for sir travelers only, and the airline you use may matter depending on your nationality. Some visitors from selected countries must apply to use Turkey or Pegasus Airlines only, while others, especially travelers from EU and EFTA countries, are free to fly with any airline of their choosing.

One Visitor Per Visa: Two persons cannot apply with the same application form nor can they visit with the same visa. There are also no group visas for touring groups. It is one person per visa;even minors need their own visas.

Frequently Asked Questions about Turkey visa

  • How long before my travel date should I apply for e-Visa?
You can apply for your e-Visa any time before your travel. However, you are advised to create an e-Visa application at least 48 hours before your departure.
  • Do I need to enter on the exact date specified in my application?
No. The validity period of your e-Visa begins from the date specified in your application. You can enter on any date within this period.
  • Why do I need to send scanned copies of documents for e-visa, if I already have US Permanent Resident Card or UK Permanent Resident Card?
No documents are required to process a Turkish eVisa. Any scans requested are to verify information for processing only. If you do not want to provide scans we can process your visa without them but if any information was incorrectly entered your visa may not be usable
  • Why must a round-trip ticket be booked with specific airlines?
It does not need to be booked with a specific airline unless you are of a certain nationality. If this is requested of your nationality this will appear on the checklist of documents when applying online.
  • How long must my passport be valid for a trip?
We recommend your passport be valid for 6 months after your travel dates to ensure you do not have any issues.
  • How long is a visa valid for?
An evisa once issued is valid for 3 months before you travel. Once you present yourself to immigration control at the port of entry, you may be issued with a stay period not exceeding 90 days, which may be renewed for a further 90 days at the immigration headquarters. The maximum number of days a visitor may stay in Kenya is 6 months.
  • How long does it take to get a visa?
Most Country eVisas are processed same day. If any information is missing from your order there will be a delay while our team reaches out to you to secure this information
  • What is an electronic visa?
Electronic visas (known as eVisas) are digital versions of standard travel visas. The benefit is that the process is handled entirely online without the need to submit your passport to a consulate for processing. When an electronic visa is issued it is e-mailed to you instead of printed into your passport. We recommend you bring a printed copy of the issued eVisa along with your passport when traveling.
