    Gambia Visa Policy

The Gambia Visa Policy encompasses a comprehensive framework of regulations that govern the entry requirements for foreign nationals visiting The Gambia. A visa is an official document granted by a country that allows foreign nationals to temporarily enter and remain within its territory for the purposes of visiting, working, or studying.

The visa requirements vary for each visitor depending on their nationality, the reason for their trip, and how long they want to remain in the country. The Gambia Visa Policy states that citizens of around 104 countries and territories do not need a visa to enter the country. These people may enter the country quickly and easily with only a valid passport as proof of nationality, rather without having to apply for and wait for any kind of visa or other entry permit.

A visa is not required for admission into The Gambia for citizens of around 17 different countries. However, before leaving the nation, they must first get permission from Gambian immigration. This process guarantees that all required immigration procedures will be completed prior to their arrival in The Gambia.

The Gambia's embassy in four countries will provide visitors visas upon arrival. Traveling to The Gambia is easier for citizens of these countries since they may apply for a visa upon arrival.

The Gambia Visa Policy requires visitors from countries where visas are required, other than those who fall into the visa-exempt or visa-on-arrival categories, to obtain an Embassy Visa before entering The Gambia. The application must be sent to the Gambian embassy or consulate in the applicant's place of residence.

There is no visa need for citizens of the 104 countries and territories to enter The Gambia for up to 90 days. Visa-free entrance is also available to people of around 17 other countries with prior approval from Gambian immigration authorities. Visitors from four more countries may enter The Gambia with a Visa on Arrival and remain for up to 28 days.

To enter The Gambia, citizens of all other countries must first apply for a visa at an embassy. With this visa, you may remain in the nation for up to 30 days. A valid passport, itinerary, aircraft tickets, proof of insurance, and confirmation of lodging arrangements are all required when applying for a tourist visa to Gambia.

    Gambia Visa on Arrival

The Gambia's Visa Policy allows citizens of four countries to enter the nation with a Visa on Arrival.

French, Portuguese, Spanish, and American nationals may visit The Gambia and remain for up to 28 days with the Tourist Visa. A valid passport with at least six months of remaining validity and other required documentation are required to apply for the Visa on Arrival.

This visa may only be obtained in person at the relevant border crossing, where an application must be filled out and the requisite price paid.

Visa on Arrival makes it easy for citizens of these countries to visit The Gambia and soak in its culture and scenery without having to wait to get their visas granted beforehand.

    Residence Permits of Gambia

The Gambian government has implemented a strict system of resident permits to control the length of stay of visitors from other countries. A Type A Study Permit is required for students who want to attend university in The Gambia. There are two types of work permits available: Type B for nationals of ECOWAS and Type C for qualified workers and small merchants.

All Gambia visas expire on December 31 of each year and must be renewed each year in order to remain valid. Nationals of Senegal, Mauritania, Guinea, and Mali do not need to pay the residency permit cost since they are part of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
